Bucharest, November 09, 2016 – EximBank has been awarded for its strategy focused on facilitating the access of Romanian companies to financing instruments, the bank winning the prize for the Most Impressive Growth in Banking, during the “Financial Leaders’ Hall of Fame 2016” Gala, organized by Business Arena Magazine.

”We intended this year to distribute as many funds as possible towards the local companies and we have succeeded, acting on two levels. On one hand we have focused on the increase of the usage rate of the financial instruments granted by the bank under the mandate of the Romanian State (guarantees and insurance) and we have simplified the work flows, have launched new products and, more important, we have managed to improve communication with our partners – the other banks on the market. On the other hand, we have significantly improved our efforts as commercial bank. During the last four years EximBank has implemented a vast process of modernization, that allowed the bank to approach the market in 2016 fully prepared to offer to the corporate segment a complex and attractive portfolio for all Romanian companies. As a first effect, after the first nine months of the year we have a credit exposure 15% higher than for the same period of 2015, maintaining at the same time the non-performant level of financing under the market average, and have registered increased revenues from the complementary products portfolio, namely the foreign exchange transactions (+52%) and cash management (+10%)”, said Traian Halalai, Executive President of the bank.

He added that EximBank will keep its focus on supporting and promoting the Romanian exports and investments abroad, on granting financial resources to high impact projects at local and regional level as well as on the backing of the development plans and competitiveness growth for SMEs.

EximBank has been actively involved for almost 25 years in supporting and promoting the Romanian business environment by endorsing the local companies’ projects. Following the adjustments made to its business pillars along the time in order to adapt to the national and international economic challenges, EximBank is now capable of presenting to the corporate segment a products and services portfolio that attracts all companies, either SME or large companies, involved in international transactions or only operating locally.

Also, acting as State agent on the insurance and guarantees market, EximBank is the main channel for the public funds made available by the Romanian State to be infused in the local economy, thus contributing to increase of the local economy competitiveness.
