EximBank: Our strategic goal is to support Romanian companies to approach new markets

Bucharest, September 06, 2012– Supporting Romanian companies to enter new, more risky markets such as Africa, South America, Middle East or ex- soviet countries – is one of the strategic goals of EximBank for 2012 -2016, the Bank being able to offer complex, integrated solutions for exporters and companies seeking the extension of their operations abroad, declared Ionut Costea, President of EximBank at the Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy.

”In our current European and international conditions, observing the global economic recession I do believe that Romanian exporters should be more courageous in approaching emergent, in course of development economies, even if this process involves higher risks as compared to the European markets. I am convinced of that due to the policy that EximBank has for covering the risks incurred by the these international transactions which is able to bring extra value and credibility for the official support of Romanian companies’ projects”, added Ionut Costea.

President of EximBank emphasized the fact that the Bank offers to Romanian exporters a products mix that have the function to significantly diminish potential risks. EximBank covers risks of nonpayment related to export contracts for non – EU markets or countries outside OECD as well as risks associated with Romanian investments abroad. ”We can be a valuable partner for exporters looking for markets outside Europe, and the fact that we granted internationalization guarantees amounting at Euro 500 Mil for Brazil and Russia is a confirmation of our capacity”, stated Ionut Costea.

EximBank official restated the Bank’s availability to cooperate with Romanian ambassadors and economic counselors in the Romanian embassies staff in order to identify new opportunities such as together, both parties, to increase their capacity of offering complete solutions for giving new insights to the international economic relations.
