Bucharest, October 21, 2013 \u2013 Starting this week, the Bucharest Branch and the headquarters of EximBank will operate in a new location on 6A, Barbu Stefanescu Delavrancea Str. (Kiseleff Palace), the location change being part of a set of complex strategic management decisions based on optimizing the working flows and the reduction of operational costs. <\/p>\n
\u201dDuring last year EximBank has passed through a process of optimization of the administrative framework and reshaping of the activity based on business principles adjusted to the system practices; with the moving into the new location this process has reached its end. We had in mind especially the correlation between the support and sales functions with a strong focus on the territorial network and modern payment systems with a higher flexibility in the working routines. We want a major perception change about this bank and we do believe that all these changes, including the one regarding the location will prove that the bank has changed, has a modern approach, the bureaucracy is reduced and the product portfolio is adjusted to market needs.\u201d, said Traian Halalai, President of EximBank.<\/p>\n
He added that the relocation of the bank\u2019s headquarters was an option that emerged also in the past but the conditions on the real estate market are now at their best in order to make this change.<\/p>\n
\u201dAdditionally, our relocation idea has met the need of the Financial Supervisory Authority for a new space and thus the move is beneficial for all parties. The new location suits better the actual needs of our team \u2013 especially due to the fact that previously the space has also been used by a bank.\u201d, added Traian Halalai.<\/p>\n
EximBank representative pointed out that due to same reasons related to the real estate market but especially taking into account the costs optimization process the bank has in view the relocation of some units in the country.<\/p>\n
\u201dWe have spaces that are not responding to our needs anymore, big spaces that are more suitable for retail banks. I already have said and I repeat it that we do not want the businessmen to come all the time to EximBank and to have the space to see them all , but we would rather want the opposite: the client relationships managers will visit the companies\u2019 offices. This is why we do not need extremely generous spaces for managing client relations. We need locations adjusted to our actual needs. For the same reason we have in mind opening low staffing agencies in adequate locations.\u201d, added Halalai. <\/p>\n
EximBank has registered during the first six months of the year a gross profit amounting at almost 30 Mln Lei, a double value as compared to the whole 2012, based on the increase of the banking income by almost 5% as compared to the similar period of 2012 and the reduction of the operational costs with almost 15%.<\/p>\n
Since the beginning of the year, the bank has opened four news agencies thus expanding its network to 16 units – Bucharest, Bacau, Brasov, Buzau, Constanta, Cluj, Craiova, Deva, Galati, Iasi, Oradea, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Targu Mures, Timisoara and Sibiu; also, interested companies may access additional information on www.eximbank.ro.<\/p>\n
