Exim Banca Rom\u00e2neasc\u0103 is strengthening its position as a strategic financier of the green economy by joining the international consortium of banks that has granted Enery, an independent renewable power producer in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), a EUR 460m syndicated green project financing.<\/p>\n

The funding will be used for the construction of Enery\u2019s Ogrezeni hybrid project in Giurgiu County, Romania, combining photovoltaic (PV) generation with battery energy storage. With an installed capacity of 761 MWp \/ 534 MW AC and more than 1 GWh of battery storage, Ogrezeni will be among the largest hybrid projects in Europe. Once operational, the plant is expected to generate enough green electricity to power the equivalent of approximately 684,000 households and avoid around 303,000 tonnes of CO\u2082 emissions every year.<\/p>\n

The syndicate of lenders is comprised of UniCredit, acting as Global Coordinator, Sustainability Coordinator and Bookrunner; Intesa Sanpaolo Group, represented by Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Romania and V\u0161eobecn\u00e1 \u00faverov\u00e1 banka from Slovakia, as Mandated Lead Arranger and Bookrunner; ING Bank N.V. and its Romanian subsidiary, acting as Mandated Lead Arranger and Facility & Security Agent; Banca Transilvania SA and National Bank of Greece (Cyprus), acting as Mandated Lead Arrangers; and Exim Banca Rom\u00e2neasc\u0103 SA and Alpha Bank S.A., acting as Lead Arrangers.<\/p>\n

Sustain LCM Finance, founded by Gratia Popescu, acted as debt syndication advisor on behalf of Enery. Sch\u00f6nherr acted as the borrower\u2019s legal advisor, while Clifford Chance Badea acted as the lenders\u2019 legal advisor.<\/p>\n

The Ogrezeni hybrid project is underpinned by Enery\u2019s partnership with the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF), a dedicated commercial infrastructure fund investing in energy, transport and digital infrastructure across EU member states in CEE, with the aim of enhancing connectivity, energy security and economic growth in the \u201cThree Seas\u201d region between the Baltic, Adriatic and Black Seas.<\/p>\n
