{"id":2673,"date":"2019-07-09T12:49:16","date_gmt":"2019-07-09T09:49:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eximbank.ro\/en\/?p=2673"},"modified":"2019-07-09T12:49:16","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T09:49:16","slug":"eximbank-ascends-13-positions-in-top-100-banks-in-south-eastern-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eximbank.ro\/en\/2019\/07\/09\/eximbank-ascends-13-positions-in-top-100-banks-in-south-eastern-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"EximBank ascends 13 positions in Top 100 Banks in South Eastern Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Bucharest, July 9, 2019 \u2013 EximBank has gone up 13 positions in Top 100 Banks in South Eastern Europe ranked by managed assets in 2018, now classifying on 49<sup>th<\/sup> place due to an almost 30% growth in assets as compared to last year, accordingly to the yearly ranking of the SeeNews press agency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s edition includes 13 Romanian banks and EximBank maintains\nits ranking amongst top 10 most profitable local banks, being on sixth position\nbetween them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"690\" height=\"448\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eximbank.ro\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/top-690x448.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2674\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/top-690x448.jpg 690w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/top-300x195.jpg 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/top-768x499.jpg 768w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/top.jpg 1497w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The total net profit of the top 100 lenders by assets in the region rose\nto 4.354 billion euro ($4.894 billion) in 2018, up by 24% as compared to the\naggregate net profit of the entrants in last year\u2019s ranking. At the same time,\nthe combined assets of the top 100 banks totaled 279 billion euro in 2018, up\nby a mere 1.45% as compared to 275 billion euro of the region\u2019s biggest banks a\nyear earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe banks in SEE put up a solid performance in 2018, operating in an\nimproving economic environment amid high liquidity and in the absence of major\nexternal or internal shocks. Expanding loan portfolios combined with shrinking\nNPLs and asset impairments to support a rise in net profit which soared to a\nhistoric high despite low interest rates\u201d, according to SeeNews that analyzed\n190 financial institutions in 11 states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EximBank has continued its ambitious\nexpansion strategy implemented during the last six years and reported a\nconsistent exposures growth in 2018, high quality assets, increase of the\nmarket share on corporate financing segment and record profits.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of 2018, the bank had total exposures\namounting at 8.0 billion Lei, 30% higher than at the end of 2017, with profits\nof 113.5 million Lei, the best financial results in the last nine years.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bank increased financing by 27% as\ncompared to 2017, reaching a credit portfolio of 4.6 Billion Lei that\nconsolidated its positioning on the corporate credit segment gaining market\nshare. Assets growth propelled EximBank on 12<sup>th<\/sup> place on local banks\nranking, the highest position up until now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EximBank has been actively involved for\nmore than 25 years in supporting and promoting the Romanian business\nenvironment by endorsing local companies\u2019 projects.&nbsp; EximBank has started out as export agency but\nit developed out of these boundaries keeping its unique features at the same\ntime.&nbsp; The bank is now capable of\noffering an attractive portfolio of products and services to any type of\ncompany, either SME or large company, involved in international transactions or\nactive only on the local market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, by acting as state agent on\nthe Romanian market of guarantees and insurance, EximBank is the main channel\nfor infusing the public funds made available by the Romanian state into the\nreal economy, thus contributing to the increase of local companies\u2019 competitive\nlevel. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bucharest, July 9, 2019 \u2013 EximBank has gone up 13 positions in Top 100 Banks in South Eastern Europe ranked by managed assets in 2018, now classifying on 49th place due to an almost 30% growth in assets as compared to last year, accordingly to the yearly ranking of the SeeNews press agency.
