{"id":7707,"date":"2019-04-03T10:00:47","date_gmt":"2019-04-03T07:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eximbank.ro\/en\/?p=2601"},"modified":"2019-04-03T10:00:47","modified_gmt":"2019-04-03T07:00:47","slug":"eximbank-is-hosting-the-19th-meeting-of-the-international-working-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eximbank.ro\/en\/2019\/04\/03\/eximbank-is-hosting-the-19th-meeting-of-the-international-working-group\/","title":{"rendered":"EximBank is hosting the 19th meeting of the International Working Group on Export Credits"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Bucharest, April 3 2019<\/strong> &#8211; EximBank is hosting the International Working Group on Export Credits (IWG) meeting between April 2<sup>nd<\/sup> \u2013 4<sup>th<\/sup> under the Romanian Presidency of the European Union Council for the first semester of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dEximBank has been actively involved\nin a dialogue with similar entities, aiming both at refining and modernizing\nits portfolio and at creating favorable business environment and facilitating\nthe access of Romanian exporters on foreign markets in similar conditions with\ncompanies from abroad.&nbsp; These constant\nefforts have been recognized in the actual context of the Romanian Presidency\nof the European Union Council by hosting this event that allows us to\ncontribute on the first line to shaping the common positioning of European\nmember states related to international transactions.\u201d, declared the representatives\nof the Export \u2013 Import Bank of Romania, that is currently chairing the Credit\nExport Working Group of the European Union Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They added that, by hosting the 19<sup>th<\/sup> meeting of the IWG in Bucharest as well as by its constant concern of harmonizing European Union member states positions<a>, <\/a>Romania is taking up on the opportunity to affirm its cooperative dimension, underlying its stability in supporting the negotiating positions of the European Union which is participating as a single voice to the IWG negotiations, representing the agreed points of view of all member states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event in Bucharest gathers more\nthan 100 representatives of institutions active in the export credit domain\nfrom EU member states as well as another 14 countries, all of which\nsignificantly contribute to the international commerce. Debates follow the main\nideas of identifying new ways for supporting national companies on international\nmarkets considering the change of economic paradigms and the increased impact\nof emergent economies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About International Working Group on Export Credits <\/strong><a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>International Working Group on Export Credits (IWG) has started in 2012,\u00a0under the common initiative of strengthening the economic relationship between United States of America and China (\u201cJoint Fact Sheet on Strengthening U.S. &#8211; China Economic Relations\u201d), \u00a0aiming at identifying international guidelines for officially supported export credits that will ensure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The level playing field for national programs for export support. <\/li><li>Compliance with the World Trade Organization ruling, especially\nthe provisions of the Agreement for the Subventions and Compensatory Measures (ASCM),\nthat rule the OECD Arrangement and any other successive agreement that may compare\nin qualitative terms. <\/li><li>Complementarity with the private sector.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of IWG are the participant\nstates to OECD Arrangement as well as non-participant states such as China,\nIndia, Indonesia, Russian Federation, South Africa etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About EximBank<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EximBank has been actively involved\nfor more than 25 years in supporting and promoting the Romanian business\nenvironment by endorsing as many local companies\u2019 projects as possible.\nEximBank has started as an export agency and, in time, it managed to overcome\nthis status keeping its unique features along the way.
