EximBank gains 5 positions in Top 100 Banks in Southern Eastern Europe

Bucharest, October 16, 2012 – EximBank has managed to place itself on the 38th position in Top 100 Banks in South Eastern Europe, as per the profit registered for last year in the yearly ranking realized by SeeNews in a partnership with Euromonitor International – the world’s biggest supplier for business and markets analysis.

In this year ranking edition, EximBank places 67 as per the assets at the end of 2011, going up 5 positions as compared to 2011, the ranking being realized by questionnaires sent to 240 banking institutions in 11 countries (Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia).

Romania comes back to the leading position in the region banks’ rankings with 21 entities part of the survey for Top 100, followed by Bulgaria – 18 and Slovenia – 17. The authors of the survey emphasized that in 2010, Romania lost the first position in front of Bulgaria and Serbia due to the bad economic conditions but managed to come back due to the fact that this year the ranking comprised 7 more banking institutions.
