Bucharest, October 18, 2013 – EximBank is an equal player for the other banks in the system in terms of financing granted in Lei and, in addition, we have a competitive level of costs, the only condition for our support to be real being the viability of the projects, declared Traian Halalai, President of EximBank, during a meeting with the businessmen organized in Galati.

“We are now in a stage where we could have an important role in the economy and in the same time we have the necessary resources. We know that some companies are still reluctant in working with a state owned bank. I can only encourage them to approach EximBank in order to notice the change in the bank’s attitude towards the client, the relaxation of the working flows and the products portfolio that is now adjusted to the market’s needs. I would like to emphasize the fact that EximBank has access to funding and it is ready to finance and guarantee the companies’ projects. As well, we are not targeting only the exporters but any type of company either SME, big company, exporter or active only on the internal market.” said Traian Halalai.

He added that the meeting with the business community in Galati follows shortly after the opening of a new agency in town, both decisions deriving from the strategy of increasing the bank’s activity efficiency and developing the relationship with the business environment.

More than 40 managers of the local companies have participated at the business meeting in Galati – such as Asil, Menarom, Sarlo Design, Derpan, Transeuropa Port, Mairon, Prutul, Criomec etc., but also the representatives of the local authorities – Marius Stan, Mayor of Galati or Aurel Vlaicu, City Manager of the town.

During the event the EximBank representatives have emphasized that the bank is ready to address the needs of the business environment and possess the viable financial instruments that may be customized as per each company’s profile.

EximBank has also organized a working session with the representatives of the commercial banks active in Galati aiming at identifying the most efficient ways of cooperation. During the meeting that was attended by 25 members of the local banking community, the major objective of EximBank of infusing as much state funds in the economy with the support of the other commercial banks.

The banks gas in its portfolio complementary products to the ones offered by the commercial banks especially facilities that may contribute to mitigating the risks associated with the crediting activity for the corporate segment, such as the guarantees and insurance products that allow EximBank to take over a significant part of the risks.
