The policy covers export credits in sectors that significantly contribute to reducing the impact of climate change, including sustainable energy, greenhouse gas emission reduction, high-energy efficiency projects, and adaptation to climate change.

Exim Banca Romaneasca ensures the recovery of up to 95% of the buyer’s credit value and 85% of the supplier’s credit value.

  • Insurance period: ranging from 2 to 22 years, depending on the nature, sector, and impact of export projects.
  • Currency: local currency or foreign currency.

Risks covered:

  • Commercial risks during the pre and/or post-delivery period due to debtor insolvency, extended non-payment, unilateral termination of the export contract, or non-compliance with buyer credit conditions by the debtor.
  • Political risks (difficulties and delays in transferring funds from the debtor’s country due to a general moratorium on external debt, actions by foreign governments hindering the execution of the export contract or buyer credit agreement, other risks related to public debtors).
  • Force majeure risks (natural disasters, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, wars, etc.) preventing the execution of the export contract or of the buyer credit agreement.

Beneficiaries:

  • Romanian exporters providing supplier credits
  • Financial institutions providing buyer credits or financing supplier credits for executing an export contract.
