Bancpost and EximBank conclude new partnership to support investment plans of Romanian entrepreneurs

Bucharest, July 4th, 2017 – Bancpost and EximBank announce the conclusion of a new partnership to support local entrepreneurship, allowing companies an easier access to financing instruments for their current activity, as well as the achievement of investment projects. Therefore, by signing the SMEs Securing Ceiling Agreement, a large number of small and medium-sized companies, which do not have enough assets to cover the guarantees, can benefit from the Bancpost lending solutions. The guarantee ceiling made available to Bancpost amounts to RON 20 million and is dedicated to securing loans in RON granted by the bank to its clients.

Thus clients can benefit from individual guarantees worth maximum RON 1.5 million. For investment projects, the individual guarantee can cover up to 80% of the principal value. To support the current activity, clients can access guarantees of up to 70% of the credit line value, facility which can be annually renewed.

“To place the needs of our clients first is part of the DNA of the organization I am representing. We also know that one of the main concerns of entrepreneurs related to the financing needs for their business is to identify eligible guarantees for the bank. The natural consequence is this partnership between Bancpost and EximBank, which opens new opportunities for entrepreneurs which can get, at the right moment, the amounts they need to accomplish their investment plans or to finance their current activity. Worth mentioning is the state initiative to involve two big players on counter guarantees market for loans granted to SME clients in a market context in which it is so important to finance this sector”, stated Dragoș Călin, Executive Manager, Bancpost.

“The guarantees issued by the Romanian state through EximBank are an extraordinary source which companies could exploit more through the commercial banks. In this context, Bancpost’s decision to get involved alongside EximBank in a partnership is all the more important, meeting the financing needs of companies, facilitating in this way the SMEs’ access to funding and, implicitly, the performance increase of this segment. The concluded agreement is beneficial both for companies, by securing the required collateral level, and for the bank, by mitigating the credit risk and diversifying financing solutions for SMEs projects. We also intend to replicate this with other commercial banks, to the net benefit of entrepreneurs”, stated Traian Halalai, Executive President of EximBank.
