Exim Banca Românească finances with about EUR 39 million the development of Iasi Airport

Exim Banca Românească  granted a financial package worth about EUR 39 million for the implementation of one of the largest investment projects in Romania – the extension and modernization of the infrastructure of Iasi County airport.

The overall objective of the project was to develop the transport infrastructure of the Iasi Airport Autonomous Authority by building a new passenger terminal T4, an investment of approximately EUR 100 million through which Iasi Airport becomes the second largest airport in Romania.

The completion of the works and the successful implementation of the project with European funds were marked today in Iasi, the new terminal being presented for the first time. Terminal 4, which has an area of approximately 30,000 square meters, which is more than ten times larger than the current T3 terminal, will be operational starting March 31st , at the same time as Romania’s entry into Schengen in terms of air borders.

The financial package granted by EXIM Banca Românească includes an investment loan of EUR 15.8 million to finance the Airport’s own contribution to the eligible and ineligible expenses related to the project financed from structural funds (POIM 2.3): “The development of Iasi International Airport – Extension of passenger terminals and parking facilities at Iasi International Airport”, a credit line worth 55 million lei to finance the VAT related to the project, as well as an investment loan of 60 million lei for pre-financing the non-reimbursable amounts receivable within the project.

Exim Banca Românească is a 100% Romanian universal bank, ranked in top 10 largest credit institutions by assets. The bank offers its corporate clients a wide range of quality products and services, covering the entire financing cycle as well as transactional – financing, guarantees, insurance, treasury products, cash management, factoring and trade finance.

Exim Banca Românească operates a national distribution network of 83 branches and 26 Corporate Units, the latter being dedicated exclusively to companies, a network that allows it to be close to retail and corporate customers and to implement various Romanian and European development programs.

In addition, because it acts as an agent of the state on the guarantee and insurance market, Exim Banca Românească is one of the instruments through which the public funds, made available by the Romanian state, support the sustainable development of the economy.
