EximBank reaches Top 10 most profitable Romanian banks

Bucharest, August 30, 2011 – EximBank reached Top 10 most profitable Romanian banks in the first semester of this year.

The Romanian banking system reported, as per national accounting standards, an overall profit of 144 Millions Lei with the Top 10 players reporting an overall financial performance of 380 Millions Lei.

EximBank succeeded in making profits on every line of business as well as in reducing the total operational costs by 20% as compared to the planned budgetary indicators.

Overall, the total exposure of the bank increased during the first six months of the year by almost 40% as compared to the same period of 2010, maintaining the continously fast growing trend started two years ago.

Along with the higher levels of operational efficiency, EximBank registered improved activity dynamics both reagrding the activity in the name and the account of the state and on own account.

Thus, the exposure on its own account increased by 36% as compared to the first semster of 2010 based on granting more credits and the financial performance in the state name and account increased by 40% based on the activity on the guarantees field.
