EximBank, awarded for profit and assets achievements
Bucharest, July 02, 2015 – The banking system is now facing the need to solve issues that nave not been correctly addressed in the past and have now became new challenges, but it is still important for Romania to have solid banks, even at small and medium levels, said Paul Ichim, Executive Vice-president of EximBank, during the Top Bankers Gala.
The event benchmarks the achievements of the banking institutions in 2014 and EximBank received two prizes – one for the Profit Dynamics and one for the Assets Dynamics for medium level banks.
”EximBank is one of the exemptions from the industry’s general trends: it continued to fully support the real economy, it has developed the products and services portfolio and it has expanded its commercial network. We have built a very solid operation that is generated profits year over year, we have a good assets structure and high solvability. Most and foremost in my opinion is the fact that the results we have achieved show that we have a strong, professional team, to whom I thank, and I hope that together we will accede to the superior classification for the next edition.”, said Paul Ichim during the Gala.
He added that, even under the circumstances of the external adverse factors impacting on the corporate finance market and of a negative consolidated result of the banking system, EximBank has reported a net cumulative profit of more than 90 Million lei during the last two years. The bank is continuing its positive course this year closing the first quarter with net profit of almost 35 Million Lei, five times higher than the one registered during the same period of 2014.
In terms of assets, at March, 31st 2015, the respective indicator reached 4,1 Billion Lei, with a 5% growth as compared to the one registered at the end of last year, adding to that the exposures managed by EximBank under the state name and account valuing 2.3 Billion Lei.
