Advantages

You can perform all the banking operations you need:

  • cash collections/deposits in RON or foreign currency,
  • transfers to accounts opened with our bank or other banks, in the country or abroad, through payment orders in RON or foreign currency,
  • opening or closing term deposits,
  • foreign currency exchange operations (without a fee),
  • cash deposits and withdrawals, depending on your needs.

In case of a foreign currency payment instruction, you can choose one of the following options in regards to the commission payment:

“OUR” – all bank fees related to the issuance and processing of the payment (including the commissions of the bank /intermediary banks) are being borne by the Paying Client from the related payment account, opened with the issuing bank;

“BEN” – all bank fees (the fee of the Payer’s Bank, as well as the commissions of the bank/intermediary banks) related to the issuance and processing of the payment are being borne by the Beneficiary Client of the funds and are withheld from the ordered amount;

“SHA” – the commission of the issuing Bank is being borne by the paying Client, and the commission of the bank/intermediary banks, as well as the commission of the beneficiary’s bank are the responsibility of the beneficiary Client and are withheld from the ordered amount. The intermediary bank may withhold the related commission from the ordered amount, so that a SHA type payment becomes the BEN type payment at the intermediary bank/beneficiary.

All the payments in a foreign currency to a state within the European Economic Space – EES in a currency belonging to those states will always be processed according to SHARE (SHA) fees principle.

The Intra-Community and interbank payments on the Romanian territory in USD are made through intermediate banks in the USA that are not subject to EU regulations, so that the SHA-type payments are commissioned along the way and externally, and the processed amount is reduced by the related commission of the American bank. Payments in USD can also be ordered with the OUR option and are not charged externally by the US intermediary bank.

  • You can attach a debit card and can have permanent access to your money while through  Internet Banking service you can check up the cash available in the account, perform all operations you with, at low costs;
  • The cash available in the account is secured by the Bank Deposits Guarantee Fund of Romania, within the limit of EUR 100,000 ceiling, in RON equivalent per depositor.

You receive monthly the account statement on your e-mail address, for natural persons and daily for legal persons. To activate this option, we are waiting for you in any branch. The account statement remittance has no related costs and becomes active the next day after submitting the application in the branch. By choosing this option you will also have other benefits:

  • Time gained – you no longer have to go to the bank to take over the statements of account;
  • Easy management – you can easily archive the statements of account in electronic format (format .pdf);
  • Remittance confidentiality assured – statements of account are sent only to the specified e-mail addresses.

Good to know

  • the account is opened for unlimited term and there are no age restrictions,
  • to open the account you only need your identification document,
  • there is no required minimum amount,
  • the interest rate is variable,
  • for the cash available in the account, the interest is 0% p.a. irrespective of the account currency,
  • for the unauthorized current account overdraft, the penalty interest is of 35% per year (0.09% per day) for the accounts in RON and of 20% per year (0.05% per day) for the account in foreign currency (irrespective of the currency type),
  • for operations run through the current account, the Bank’s List of Commissions is applied,
  • the deadlines of getting payment instructions at the desk can be consulted on the website,
  • the annual standard interest percentages applied to the account can be found on the website.

Payments account with basic services

If you do not have a payments account yet, including an account with basic services at any bank of Romania and you are a legal resident of the European Union, you can benefit now from a basic payment account in RON at costs adapted to your income level.

According to the provisions of Law 258/2017, which introduces the payments account with basic services, in order to benefit of your first account product you need justifying documents according to your income level:

I. Financially vulnerable clients, whose gross monthly income or the average gross income obtained over the last 6 months does not exceed the equivalent of 60% of the average gross salary in the economy, as forecast in the latest macroeconomic forecast (namely the autumn forecast) published by the National Commission for Strategy and Forecast in the current year for the following year, or whose income over the last 6 months does not exceed the equivalent of 60% of the average gross salary in the economy.

Documents: affidavit (declaration on own responsibility) and proof of gross income (salary certificate, pension slip, etc.).

II. Financially non-vulnerable clients, whose gross monthly income or the average gross income obtained over the last 6 months exceeds the equivalent of 60% of the average gross salary in the economy, as forecast in the latest macroeconomic forecast (namely the autumn forecast) published by the National Commission for Strategy and Forecast in the current year for the following year.

The following services are being offered for free through the payments account with basic services:

(d) The first 10 monthly payment operations performed by a client, including the payments by debit card at POS, online, direct debit, scheduled payment orders;

b) Cash withdrawals at the bank’s desk or from any ATM, nationally and internationally within European Union;

You can attach a debit card and the Internet Banking service to a payment account with basic services, and the costs of these products and services are specified in the List of Commission applicable to Individuals.

Payment Account Transfer Service

If you wish to transfer your payment account from another bank to Exim Banca Românească, this can now be done easily through the account switching service. This service is provided free of charge, in accordance with the law, and can be performed between payment accounts opened in the same currency.

The transfer is carried out based on your explicit authorization.

The payment services that may be transferred include: direct debit mandates, standing orders, and recurring incoming payments.

You may also opt to transfer the account balance, with or without closing the account after the transfer has been completed, in accordance with the applicable contractual terms.

If you change your mind, you may cancel the account switching request by completing a specific form, under the conditions and within the timeframe set out in the signed documentation.
